Beside pumping a fuel, pressing gas and brake pedal I have no idea about what's inside the car. I have a '05 Hyundai Tucson and one beautiful day my car would have more and more problems with starting. Some people sugessted ignition problems, some told me it's the fuel pump. I didn't have the money to pay mechanic to tell me that the problem is in ingition, fuel pump and probably by the way I should exhange my catalytic converter along with all 4 tires and timing belt. So on one of the web sites I read that fuel pump is common in my car to die. I ordered one through amazon-the price was outstanding by the way. Other web sites charged twice as much. I looked at the google image to figure out where the pump is located(underneath the back seat on the driver's side-you need to lift the carpet to unscrew the seat, lift it up and there is a fuel pump hidding). I exchanged my fuel pump all by myslef. Unscrew few screws, then unsnap the wires, hold the pump and wiggle it a little while you pull it out, then just replace the old pump with new one by reversing all the steps. Watch out for the fuel inside the old pump, it will be full, so make sure you have a bowl near by because the fuel will leak. After you replace it, turn the key few times to allow the new pump fill with the fuel. That's it! I saved myslef probably few hundreds of $$$ and I don't have any more problems with starting my car. The pump works excellent, I'm happy and my car is happy. The best is that I learned how to change a fuel pump all by myself :) My whole fuel pump exchange cost me not even $150! And I'm a girl who knows nothing about cars.
