I will definitely buy Timken products again. We all know that Timken means quality. They went so far as to include all of those pesky clips and push-through holders that typically break while disconnecting or moving wires. Packaging was adequate. Instructions were general. It is not a difficult install for a weekend gear-head. Odd size larger sockets and hd torque wrench required.

I installed this in 2006/2007 classic duramax crew cab SRW 4x4. The original factory bearing was also a timken. This one is shaped a bit different near the splines but works fine. It's a more universal than having a lot of different part numbers. I guess this is also used in non 4x4 trucks also. The splines will simply not be used. I'd recommend cleaning the steering knuckle out good. The abs line worked well albeit one grommet was in wrong location so I have the line holding down with Three instead of Four locations. The one that didn't locate was right near the plug assembly. I'd recommend a 36mm socket for 4x4, I got a Williams from amazon. And a 13/16 socket to take off the brake caliper frame assembly. Torque IIRC Is 140 ft lbs for lugs, 221 brake caliper and 177 ft lbs for center hub. If you jack the truck up and have the suspect wheel off the ground there should be very little play when pulling top of tire towards you and pushing bottom towards truck and vice versa. My wheel had at least an inch I would guess. No play for all practical purposes with new bearing installed.

This Timken Hub Assembly was absolutely perfect for my 07 Silverado 2500HD Classic. Overall time to install was about 2 hours which included a 15 min trip to track down a heavier duty torque wrench. My skill level is a bit more proficient than a DIYer but less than a professional. My last hub was some cheap POS that the mechanic put on. Hoping this one will last me a while. If you planning on using for a Chevy I highly recommend this forum[...]. It had great details and pictures going step by step really took a lot of the guess work out of the installation.
