Update:Got it installed this week. Some notes follow. Overall I'm very pleased with it. Amazon shipping was poor, but the product has performed quite nicely.1. The unit is indeed smaller than the stock Nissan catalytic converter. So the heat shield really can't be welded on at all. This won't affect the cat or engine, but it could affect the hoses and wiring that's near the cat. Theoretically excess heat could wear them out faster. However my mechanic said that as long as there's good physical separation and air flow (which there is), it should be fine.2. The good part. After installation, the engine got a nice subtle vroom sound. It also definitely picked up a small but noticeable horse power gain and accelerates slightly better. I was quite pleased that not only was my engine protected against Nissan's crappy cat but I also got some performance gain out of the old car.3. In my picture you'll notice a indentation on the left most manifold intake. This is supposed to be there to make sure there's clearance in the engine. I was concerned that it was a defect. But it wasn't.4. Made in USA. All in all I'm very pleased with it.----Got this with one-day shipping so I'm not sure if that impacted my experience.1. The product as shipped didn't include the 2 washers and nuts that the manufacturer says it should have. Not sure if that's a packaging issue or it just doesn't sell with them. They're not in the description.2. Regardless of where you buy it, it normally doesn't come with the header gasket and 2 tension springs. There also might be other bolts/nuts needed. Nissan has a kit for that.3. The unlike OEM, you cannot attach the exhaust manifold covers see [...]4. The unit also doesn't have anything to attach to the bottom of the engine block. My mechanic will just cut the bracket off the original cat and weld it on to this one.5. I guess the biggest plus is that it is made in USA. So I'd definitely buy the product, but the vendor still matters.Overall, I'd be weary of buying it from Amazon because they have no live customer service and this isn't exactly a self-explanatory part.But the price is right at $391. Hopefully it will go down for black Friday.Will be installing it in the next few weeks if the manufacturer can get the missing parts to me. Otherwise I'll send it back and get another one, which hopefully has all the parts.
